M.A. Programs
The Psychology Department offers the following MA degree programs:


The MA/CAS School Psychology program is a three-year program.

The Clinical and General Psychology programs are two-year programs. Only the Academic Psychology Program can be completed by distance education delivery mode.

The Academic Concentration has rolling admissions.

Acceptance into all other programs is for the Fall Semester.

February 1st is the application deadline for all MA Programs.

While each program has some specific application requirements, all programs require:

  • a transcript of current undergraduate coursework,
  • GRE Verbal, Quantitative, & Analytical Scores,
  • three letters of recommendation, two of which should be from psychologists
  • an ECU Graduate School Application, and the Psychology Department Supplemental Application form (this form can be completed on line or downloaded from links at left).
  • Minimal credentials for acceptance into the doctoral program is 3.25 GPA and a combined GRE score (V + Q) of 1100. Minimum credentials for the non-doctoral programs are a 2.95 Grade Point Average overall and a combined GRE (V+Q+A) score of 1500 with no individual score lower than 450.
