This site was created by the Cardiac Psychology Lab at East Carolina University. It is dedicated to the care of individuals with heart disease, and will specifically focus on patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).The purpose of this site is to educate patients, family members, healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and researchers on the unique experiences of cardiac and ICD patients in order to promote optimal care and quality of life of these patients.
