The Greenville Noon Rotary Club recently participated in a Rotary project in the Czech Republic. As a sponsor, the club raised money through Rotary district 7720 (northeastern North Carolina) and The Rotary Foundation.
Over $20,000 was sent to help purchase a mini-bus for transporting handicapped children to and from a special day-care facility in the small town of Trebic, Czech Republic. The bus was modified to carry two wheelchair patients as well as seven others.
Chris Bremer, a member of the Noon Club, represented District 7720 and presented the keys to the director of the day-care center. Members of the Rotary Club of Trebic were present for the ceremony as were several members of their Sister Clubs from Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany and Epe, Netherlands. Several local Czech dignitaries also took part in the festivities.
The Greenville Noon Rotary Club is a service organization made up of more than 100 local business and professional leaders.
