EVENTS
  • The photo exhibition "Gems of Russian Wonderland" February 17-April 30, 2009 on the 1st floor of Joyner Library, featuring ancient Russian architecture and history. There are 20 color photos taken by Russian students in different regions of the country: ancient Russian churches and fortresses, monasteries and convents. The project was sponsored by the Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi.
     
  • The Russian National Ballet will perform Giselle, April 2, 2009 in Wright Auditorium. Village maiden Giselle loves Loys who is actually a betrothed nobleman disguised as a peasant. When Giselle discovers the deceit, her heart breaks in madness and she dies. Yet her love for Loys protects him form the wicked magic of the Wilis, vampirie ghosts of betrothed girls betrayed by their lovers.
 
Russian Film Series Wednesdays, 7 pm, Bate 2011. All free and subtitled in English. Everyone is welcome.
