This is a new interdisciplinary program, hosted by the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences. In addition to the contribution of the traditional liberal arts disciplines of Political Science, Sociology, History, and Geography, this program of study involves courses from other colleges: the College of Human Ecology (Criminal Justice); College of Health and Human Performance (Environmental Health); and the College of Technology and Computer Science (Emergency Planning and Information Security).
We currently offer two programs of study: a Graduate Certificate in Security Studies and an Undergraduate Minor in Security Studies. The tabs in the left column provide additional information on these programs. We are in the process of planning to implement a Masters degree in Security Studies. A specific implementation date is not yet available since this depends on how quickly we obtain the appropriate University Committee and UNC-System approvals.
