Sociology Graduate Students
"I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from ECU in 2012. A few years later, I decided to return for my Masters in Sociology. I chose Sociology because I really enjoyed the professors in the department. They are very welcoming and engaging in the classroom. With my Masters degree I would like to do research and work with the homeless. I would like to help improve a non-profit organization that already exists, or if it is needed I will start my own non-profit."
"I never had the opportunity to attend college as a young woman, so when it came time for me to choose a University as a "non-traditional" student, I wanted to go where I felt comfortable and knew that the professors would be understanding of my unique status. I received my B.S. in Sociology in May of 2016, and honestly, I never thought twice about applying to ECU for my M.A. I knew without a doubt that the professors in the Sociology department would be very generous with their time and extremely helpful to me as I continued my education. I might add that I haven't been disappointed!"
"I started a Graduate Certificate Program here at ECU with intentions to speak with the professors in the Sociology department to get more information about the M.A. program. After speaking with the Director of the program I decided that this was the place for me. I wanted to find the perfect program that had an "open door" policy. I wanted to feel comfortable asking my professors for assistance on an assignment or getting advice for my career path. The Sociology Department at ECU was the perfect match! I am certain that this program will help me advance into my chosen career as a professor."
