The Official Blues Brothers Revue 3/21, 8 PM, Wright Auditorium
Dan Aykroyd, Judy Belushi and Musical Director Paul Shaffer present a live concert show that combines the comedy and hits from the original movie and pays homage to Chicago’s rich history of blues, gospel and soul. The Capitol Steps 4/10, 8 PM, Wright Auditorium
The Capitol Steps put the “mock” in democracy. They ask you to order their latest album, “Fiscal Shades of Gray,” before it’s sequestered by Congress. While not all of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, in total, the performers have worked in 18 Congressional offices. You’ve likely heard them on NPR or own one of their 30 albums. George Bush said “They make it easier to leave office.”
Van Cliburn finalist Di Wu with the ECU Symphony Orchestra 4/24, 8 PM, Wright Auditorium
The ECU Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Jorge Richter, performs Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23, featuring Di Wu. “By any standard, Di Wu is an extraordinary artist, and I would gladly crawl over broken glass to hear her again” (Peninsula Reviews). She’s appeared with the Beijing, Cincinnati, Hamburg, Shanghai and Singapore orchestras, to name a few. Also on the program are Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 and Delibes’ Suite from the Ballet “Sylvia.”
