Job Opening at WNCT
Will consider students interested in the position, preferably but not limited to juniors and seniors who have taken broadcast courses, particularly ones with writing. This position is a great opportunity for a college student getting close to graduation who’s interested in entering the news media field.

It’s 25 hours/week max (typically a 12-hour shift on Saturday and a 12-hour shift on Sunday), pay is $12.75/hour.  The weekend producer is responsible for producing our 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscast. They will also be responsible for boothing the CW 10 p.m. newscast (the anchor actually produces it).  There is a 1-year contract.

A weekend news producer at WNCT is the person who stacks the show, writes it, edits the video, and then times it (booth).  While it’s very grueling, it is very rewarding and can open many doors.  Not to mention, the pay isn’t too bad and the experience is priceless.

Again, this job isn’t limited to students so if you know anyone who might be interested please spread the word.

Anyone interested can apply online, here’s a link: jobs.mediageneral.com/JobDetails.asp?varID=NCT-000147 or they can come to the station and fill out an application with our receptionist.
