Graduates from East Carolina University's School of Communication are working all over the country in some very exciting and rewarding jobs. One graduate worked in a Manhattan recording studio (with clients including VH1, Comedy Central, CBS, NBC and Disney) before moving on to produce on-air promos at A&E. Fox 8 in High Point is the home of another grad—a reporter with credits from the NC Associated Press and an Honorable Mention as Rookie of the Year in TV Journalism. Jumping from coast to coast, another former student was an editor of Marvel Comics in Los Angeles and is now creative director for Sauers Communications—a full service creative agency that specializes in publication and print design.

Graduates have gone on to become authors, television show producers, wedding and special event planners, reporters, and editors. And that’s just a sampling of the variety of jobs in the communication field to which our graduates have brought their talents, creativity and energy. Some have entered the private sector, while others have served the public in various capacities through government or non-profit organizations.

Dear Friends and Alumni,

Thank you for your support of and interest in the ECU School of Communication. As a valued member of the ECU community, you are invited to join the CommCrew: Friends & Alumni of the School of Communication as a charter member.

In 2005, the School of Communication established CommCrew, an affiliation of alumni and friends who support the legacy, mission and growth of the School of Communication. The CommCrew has proven to be a welcome resource for alumni looking to stay in touch with the School.

Comm Crew projects and activities we look forward to include guest lectures and workshops, a professional advisory board, career support information, and networking.

The “Crew” has already managed to create and find funding for several scholarships for the School. Other successful projects include: Web site discussions, a biannual newsletter, a nostalgic photograph exhibit in Joyner E. (which we'll continue to expand), and the organization of an annual reunion banquet.

As more and more alumni join the CommCrew, more benefits will be reaped by students, alumni and others.

Charter membership ($25) extends from now through July 2008. Below you will find a link to a membership form. If you choose to make a donation of $100 or more, in addition to your membership you’ll be sponsoring a professionally framed nostalgic photograph exhibited in the hallways of the communication building.

Comm Crew organizers will be in touch as events and activities unfold.
