Michael provides solutions for faculty who desire instructional design services & technology integration in their classroom teaching, online instruction, and assistance with online course and/or program development. Additionally, he researches new/emerging technologies regularly to stay current on educational technology and related fields. Prior to instructional design work, Michael worked for the ECU School of Music, handling roles such as chief recording engineer, stage management supervisor, webmaster, computer lab supervisor, and designer/typesetter for various publications.
Michael Dixon has served as the instructional technology consultant (ITC) to all faculty within the four schools of the College since 2003, and has served the university in various capacities since 1994. He represents the college by serving in ECU's Technology Advisory Council, IT Governance Committee, and Distance Education Advisory Council. Michael is also an ECU Leadership Fellow. Each year, he serves on the UNC Teaching with Technology Collaborative Conference (TLTC) program committee and is also a proposal reviewer for that conference.
