Mary Tucker-McLaughlinWelcome to East Carolina University's School of Communication. The school is one of the most popular programs at ECU with nearly 1200 undergraduate majors and a thriving graduate program. Our award-winning, nationally recognized faculty members work with students across four concentrations including journalism, public relations, interpersonal/organizational communication and media studies.

In addition to a wealth of scholarship and research, our faculty also has broad and varied professional experiences that offer our students a perfect balance of theoretical and practical knowledge. Student professional experiences are encouraged through the School of Communication's vast internship program which includes internship opportunities nationwide. The administration and faculty in the School of Communication strive to prepare students for the global communication marketplace. Our commitment to students shows in our alumni who work in communication with nationally recognized organizations such as NASCAR, CNN, ESPN, NBC, Madison Square Garden and more.

We are excited about teaching you about communication and the opportunities in this field that evolve and grow with each passing day. Spend some time on our website learning about us and be sure and check out our internship blog. We look forward to seeing you in the halls of the School and know that they will become as special to you, as they are to us.
