Current Job Title: Assistant Sports Editor, Suburban Journals of St. Louis
I've worked for nine years in sports journalism, primarily in print. I have put my broadcast degree to work at radio stations in North Carolina, Illinois and Missouri. I worked for both bob 93.3 and the Hot FM in eastern North Carolina as a DJ. I also worked for the AM Flagship station of our Pirates, Talk 1070, as the pre-game show producer. When I moved from North Carolina to the Midwest, I wanted to continue to work in radio and did so at WLDS/WEAI in Jacksonville, Ill., as a sports and newscaster. I filled in as a DJ because, hey, that's a lot of fun. Just two months after I moved to St. Louis, I was asked to fill in for a pair vacationing sports talents at St. Louis' largest radio station — KTRS, the Big 550. In my journalism career, I've covered the NHL, NASCAR, college football, soccer, baseball, basketball, wrestling and swimming, and every high school sport you can think of. I've written for the Jacksonville (NC) Daily News, Washington (NC) Daily News, New Bern Sun Journal, Martinsville (Va.) Bulletin and the Pike Press in Pittsfield, Ill. - where I won two Illinois Press Association Awards. I currently work for the Suburban Journals in St. Louis — a subsidiary of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Aside from the paper, I keep busy doing internet broadcasts of high school sports events at prepcasts.com. I also have two sons who keep me busy.

Updated 8/24/2007:
I am the Catering Director and Special Events Coordinator for Capital One. I manage all catering, restaurant, cafe, and event services ranging from planning to setup and execution. Every day is different from running day to day operations with the restaurant or cafe or planning daily events such as a gourmet breakfast, specialty lunch, reception, or any other executive event that is requested. There are typically 5 to 15 catering events a day ranging from 10 to 1000 associates attending. I also manage all business aspects such as HR, Payroll, AR/AP, scheduling, safety and so on. Needless to say I stay busy but still manage to have a great time with my wonderful family and new friends in Richmond. Special thanks to all of my professors who have taught me more than I could ever know and to Dr. Larry Auld for steering me in the right direction for classes so that I could graduate early!
