About the FRIENDS

The FRIENDS of the series trace their history to 1989, at which point a group of concerned patrons set an endowment goal of $1,000,000. Fast forward to the present day, and the endowment balance hovers at approximately $800,000. When the goal is reached, earnings will be released to support the operation of the series. 

Membership in the FRIENDS is open to all, with gifts split between the endowment (60 percent) and the operating account (40 percent). All members receive formal recognition in printed programs, first priority on seat upgrade requests when renewing subscriptions, and an invitation to a special event, annually.

Patron: $150-$249

Patrons receive first priority on bonus attraction and complimentary refreshments in the FRIENDS lounge on event evenings.

Benefactor: $250-$499

Benefactors receive the perks of the previous level and additionally are invited to park in the staffed FRIENDS lot on performance evenings. 

Leaders: $500–$999

Leaders receive the perks of the previous level and additionally are invited to a special event. 

Directors: $1,000-$2,499

Directors receive the benefits of the previous level and are recognized as a member of the Chancellor's Society, which includes an invitation to the Chancellor's Society event. 

Guarantors, Title and Series Sponsors: $2,500-$10,000

In recognizing the goals of businesses and philanthropists, the benefits of supporting the FRIENDS at the guarantor, title and series sponsorship levels are highly customizable. In the past, FRIENDS at these levels have remained anonymous, received extensive sponsorship messaging, hosted writing challenges among elementary schools across the region and offered in-kind support in marketing and hospitality.
