School of Music Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships for freshman and transfer music majors are available. These are awarded primarily on the basis of performance ability and potential displayed at the time of audition. Scholarship awards are determined by faculty committee and candidates receiving scholarship offers are generally notified by March 15. Funding for scholarships comes from ECU foundation accounts and private donations. Specific amounts are determined by the financial performance of these investments and generally range between $1,000 and $8,000 per year. Music scholarships cannot be awarded to students who have not been fully admitted to East Carolina University. For this reason, early application to ECU is highly recommended.
