Winner of awards in two events of the 1981 International Piano Recording Competition sponsored by National Guild of Piano Teachers. His 1977 Musical Arts Award presented by the Society of American Musicians resulted in an appearance on the Allied Arts Piano Series in Orchestra Hall, Chicago. New York debut (Carnegie Recital Hall) in 1978. Other awards include Young Artists Award, San Angelo, Texas; G.B. Dealey Award, Dallas; first place in Doctoral Concerto Competition, Indiana University. Former Chairman of Piano Teachers' Section, North Carolina Music Teachers Association. |
