Christopher Grymes M.M., East Carolina University; B.M., Indiana University. Studied with Avrahm Galper, Eli Eban, Nathan Williams, and Elsa Ludewig-Verdher at Michigan State University, where he was the Catherine Herrick Cobb Fellow in Music and is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Has performed in front of many orchestras, including the Boston and Utah Symphonies. Winner of numerous prizes, including first prize in the MTNA National Collegiate Woodwind Soloist Competition. Has been a member of the National Repertory Orchestra and a fellow at the Norfolk/Yale Summer School of Music Chamber Music Festival (Contemporary Music Seminar). From 1999 to 2001, he was a member of Tales & Scales, a quartet of musicians dedicated to bringing new music to young audiences across the country. |
