Christopher Knighten D.M.A., M.M., University of Colorado at Boulder, B.M., Baylor University. Dr. Knighten's degrees are in Music Education and Instrumental Conducting. His responsibilities include teaching conducting and wind ensemble literature classes, supervising student teachers, and administering all aspects of the ECU Athletic Bands. Before joining the ECU faculty, Dr. Knighten was Director of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band and taught instrumental music (6 - 12) at Richland High School in Birdville, Texas, Independent School District. and in 1986 was the head brass instructor for the Sky Riders Drum and Bugle Corps. Dr. Knighten is a member of the College Band Director's National Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and the North Carolina Music Educators Association. His articles have been published in The Instrumentalist, Today's Music Educator, and The North Carolina Music Educator. |
