Britton TheurerD.M., Florida State University; M.M., Bowling Green State University; B.M., Western Michigan University. Former students teaching at major universities and performing with professional brass quintets and symphonies. Students have been finalists or winners of national and international competitions including: Fischoff Chamber Music Competiton, Elsworth Smith International Trumpet Competion, National Trumpet Competiton, and the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competion. Three compact disks, including a solo recording, Fantasia (Capstone Records); a recording of his composition Hankyu Express as soloist with Seattle Symphony, Gerard Schwarz conducting (MMC); and a new release, Americantus, by Meridian Arts Ensemble of his music for chamber brass (8bells).  Guest artist/lecturer at International Trumpet Guild conferences, Music Educators National Conference, National Trumpet Competiton, College Music Society, and National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors meetings. Was principal trumpet of Midland-Odessa Symphony and toured with American Wind Symphony.  Performances throughout the United States, in China, Europe, and Canada; and completed three solo tours of Japan. Performed and taught for the International Summer Music Course in Menorca, Spain.  Theurer will co-host the 2009 International Brass Chamber Music Festival at East Carolina University
