The East Carolina University School of Music is offering a week of fun and educational summer keyboard activity. Campers find Keyboard Camp highly motivating, with its focus on group participation rather than the usual isolation of solo piano practice. At camp, students experience music keyboards of all types—from harpsichord and organ to concert grand pianos and digital instruments. Daily classes focus on ensemble participation, solo performance, musicianship, keyboard theory, and music technology.
Camp sessions will begin on Monday, June 9, and run through Friday, June 13, 2008. Senior level residential campers who plan to stay for the week in an ECU dormitory should plan to arrive in mid-afternoon on Sunday, June 8. Senior level commuter campers will also be invited to participate in a senior camp gathering in the late afternoon on Sunday, June 8.
