The MM, concentration in Music History & Literature, requires minimum coursework of 33 credit hours.

Applicants for the MM in Music History & Literature, should submit the following portfolio materials in support of their application for the graduate program:
- Personal statement: Typed 750-1000 word essay discussing your background and musical training, including your interest in musicology and a statement of your professional goals.
- A substantive, adequately documented music-history or music-theory paper (10-25 pages), which demonstrates potential for musicological and analytical study of music, as well as appropriate research and writing skills.
