Candidates for the master of music in composition must submit an original composition-thesis of substantial proportions or present a full concert recital of pieces composed while in residence at East Carolina University.

Minimum degree requirement is 30 s.h. as follows:

• Core: 16 s.h.; MUSC 6006, 6016, 6327, 6328, 6887, 7000

• Composition: 10 s.h.; MUSC 6326 or 6336 (may be repeated for credit), 6336 (may be repeated for credit); select others in consultation with adviser

• Electives: 4 s.h.
