To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gian Carlo Menotti’s birth

“An Operatic Double Bill”

A Hand of Bridge, Music by Samuel Barber, libretto by Gian Carlo Menotti
The Medium, Music and libretto by Gian Carlo Menotti

Barber and Menotti’s A Hand of Bridge combines the influence of Jazz with romanticism to paint a clever portrait of the inner thoughts of two married couples playing a hand of bridge. The Medium had a successful run on Broadway during the 1940’s. This gripping drama packs a punch with super natural twists and gorgeous melodies.
