For over a century, the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University has offered visual art degree courses and programs. Now some of these educational opportunities are available through distance education. The distance education mission of the School of Art and Design is to provide access to educational resources and courses in visual art and design to the broadest range of students.

The School of Art and Design invites you to explore opportunities for study in the visual arts and design. Some of these possibilities include course work in the use of technology in art, art education, studio art, art history, and art criticism. We offer both undergraduate and graduate course work. Currently, the graduate courses contribute to the MAEd program in Art Education.
