The Art Histories Guild is one of several guilds of the Visual Arts Forum,
which has formally been in existence since 1976 to represent degree programs in
the School of Art and Design. Our present guild, which was established in 1994,
includes majors and minors in Art Histories. We are committed to generating
ways to have our students actively involved in art history and its real-life
applications. A quick inventory of the Guild's activities include: An Annual
Undergraduate Art Histories Symposium, trip to the annual CAA conference,
addressing museum studies issues in the annual SoAD Student Exhibition. Members
are also involved in a variety of formal and informal academic relations
including conferences, symposia, guest lecturers, important upcoming
exhibitions and art events.
