DAN ELLIOTT TO JOIN THE GRAPHIC DESIGN FACULTY AT ECU
The School of Art and Design, and graphic design faculty are excited to welcome Dan Elliott to East Carolina University. Dan will join ECU as a tenure-track faculty member in January, and will be teaching coursework across the graphic design curriculum, including interactive graphic design.
Dan Elliott is a designer that believes graphic design has the power to affect change. He strives to create culturally relevant and authentically designed artifacts that communicate and solve problems. Dan often collaborates with non-profit organizations allowing their often unnoticed voice to be heard.
He received his undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from Illinois State University and his MFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dan has taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago and most recently served as the Head of the Graphic Design program at Harrington College of Design in Chicago. He has worked professionally as a graphic designer in both Chapel Hill and Chicago with clients ranging from large financial institutions to a local independent skateboard maker.
Dan will be relocating to Greenville with his wife, two boys, and his beard. Growing up near Chicago, he loves the cold, but doesn't mind the ability to ride his motorcycle without getting frostbite.
