Each year the School of Art and Design hosts many visiting artists. The Carol Grotnes Belk Distinguished Chair directs the program. One or more teach full-time for one or two semesters. Others visit the School for a few days providing a public lecture and often a show in our Gray Gallery. Some visiting artists offer workshops, participate in critiques and visit student and faculty studios. The visiting artist program is an important opportunity for students, faculty and the public to hear varying perspectives on art.
Artists have come from the US, New Zealand, Great Britain, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Australia and Canada. All presentations are videotaped and kept in the School of Art and Design Media Center.
