SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INFORMATION
All Current or Intended Majors in the School of Theatre and Dance who wish to be considered for scholarships in the 2014-15 academic year must do the following:
1. Submit a completed application form which is available both in this email attachment and in the School office, Messick 108.
2. Write a succinct cover letter of application to the Scholarship Committee in the Area of Concentration (e.g.—Acting or Dance Performance), giving your name, address, major area and concentration, and a brief statement of your qualifications for a scholarship based on your class work, studio training, performance, and other contributions to the School, and/or the profession. It is recommended that you include a brief statement of your career goals. One page will likely suffice for the cover letter, no more than two pages, please.
3. Enclose official evidence of your latest cumulative Grade Point Average - either a copy of your most recent end-of-semester grade report or a recent transcript or the like.
4. Incoming freshmen, transfers and other new majors, enclose the names and contact information of at least two personal references who can speak to your work, your character and your dedication to your training and education. No reference letters are necessary: names, addresses, and telephone numbers only.
Submit your application to the mailbox of John Shearin, School Director, in Messick 108 no later than Friday, March 21, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
Applications received after the deadline will be evaluated for any remaining scholarship funds.
Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
