Workshops and Special Projects

Freshman Showcase

What is the Freshman Showcase?

It’s for freshmen and transfer students only.  In the past, students have performed monologues, scenes and songs to showcase their talent. Some students have written their own pieces to perform.  You can pick whatever you want to do.  Because of time restrictions, I can only cast 14 students in the showcase.  It’s held in Room 205.

To audition for the showcase you can choose one of the monologues attached to this email.
If you prefer, you can perform a monologue of your choice.  It does not need to be memorized.
Once you’re cast, you and the other folks in the cast can choose what you want to do for the showcase.

Auditions:  Monday, December 1st at 7:00 in Room 205.
It’s an open audition. There is no sign up sheet. You sit in the audience and watch each other audition.  If you are unable to attend the audition, email me to make an appointment to audition at another time.

Performance:  Feb 6-7

Audition Monologues

Contemporary Concert

Student Choreographers:

You are invited to submit a proposal for a dance you choreograph to be presented alongside faculty works in the Contemporary Concert on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1 of 2015. Please submit your proposals as a word document (.doc) or adobe file (.pdf) via email to dixonj@ecu.edu by Wednesday, November 26 at 6pm.  The application guidelines are listed below.  Please be advised that the quality of your application (clarity of writing, attention to detail in all listed categories, etc.) will be one of the first points of consideration in the decision making process.  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Thank you!
