Acting Opportunities in the School of Theatre and Dance

We welcome everyone (students, faculty, community members) to audition for all productions. Casting is open to all comers.

Main Stage Productions:

These take place in the McGinnis Theatre. The season usually consists of the following:

  • one Musical,
  • three plays,
  • the Dance Concert.

Rehearsals are generally from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM weekday nights, with some rehearsals over the weekend.

These are plays, musicals, or presentations that are directed by faculty or students. Performances generally take place in Rooms 205, 206, or the Studio Theatre. Rehearsal times vary from director to director. If you're interested in directing a Workshop, talk to school director, John Shearin. Auditions are posted on the call board --- keep checking.

These are similar to Workshops, except they're usually cast within an Acting Class. There are no open auditions for Showcase productions.

Directing Class:

These are scenes or short plays (10-20 minutes long) that are directed by students in the Directing Class, which meets from 3:00-5:00 on MWF. If you are available from 3:00-4:00 or from 4:00-5:00 on MWF, you can audition. Auditions are posted regularly -- keep checking the callboard!
