Attendance Policy

Students missing a total of 20% or more of their classes in any course in the School of Theatre and Dance will automatically receive a grade of "F" in that course. This figure includes absences for emergencies, sickness, family needs, etc. Therefore, if a student has taken absences for non-essential reasons and then finds him/herself over the limit due to a late-coming emergency, he/she fails the course.

Please note that the above policy is the school minimum. Individual instructors may have more stringent requirements. It is the student's responsibility to learn and adhere to the attendance policy in the individual classes. Be advised that attendance requirements in crew assignments are even more stringent and are determined by the individual, supervising faculty member. Failure to meet crew attendance requirements will also result in an "F".

It is each student's responsibility to observe these requirements and to keep track of his/her absences in each class.
