BFA in Dance

BlackBoardIT Help DeskPirateIDIndexEmail and PhoneOneStopCalendarAccessibility

The technique and performance emphasis of the BFA in Dance prepares you to dance professionally or to teach in a private studio. Extensive training in technique is augmented with required courses in dance history, improvisation, and choreography, as well as elective courses in tap, pointe, and partnering. Related courses in theatre, art, and music are included in the curriculum.

While the program provides sufficient background in ballet, modern, and jazz to produce a well-rounded dancer, it also allows you to specialize in one of those forms. Master classes have been taught by several widely acclaimed artists and visiting professional companies, including Edward Villela, Peter Gennaro, Robert Small, Irene Dowd, Camille Hardy, Gene Medler, Mia Michaels, and Mark Dendy.
