The curriculum in this concentration offer the student courses to develop a wide range of skills needed in Stage Management. The program is a flexible blend of the many of the other degree programs offered by the school with a special focus on Stage Management. This program is thereby able to successfully accommodate majors who wish to pursue Stage Management, but have a background or secondary interest in Acting, Design and Production, or Dance. Included in the program of study are a wide range of courses in the many areas which interact with stage management, and extensive practical experience is also available in lab situations and through crew work on productions.
Students work as Assistant Stage Managers and Stage Managers on fully produced mainstage productions, as well as a variety of workshop experiences. A strong emphasis is placed on professional quality in all production work and performances within the School.
