Minor in Criminal Justice

 

The minor in criminal justice requires 24 semester hours of credits as follows:

 

Core Courses: (9 s.h.)

JUST 1000   The Criminal Justice System    3 s.h.

JUST 3004   Crime and Criminality              3 s.h.

JUST 3500   Principles of Criminal Law        3 s.h.

 

The elective requirement is 15 s.h. and may not include JUST 4990.

 
Minor in Forensic Science

The Department of Criminal Justice has received approval to offer a minor in forensic science beginning fall 2005.  The minor, requiring 24 to 26 semester hours of credit, will offer courses in Criminal Investigation, Introduction to Forensic Science, Forensic Impressions and Markings, and Crime Scene Investigation. The minor will be open to students in the fall and will include intensive lab work and field experiences. A new forensics lab is under development in the Rivers Building and will be ready this fall. Dr. Darrell Ross, associate professor of criminal justice, will serve as coordinator of the new minor.
