Dietitians and nutritionists are professionals who translate the science of nutrition into information and practices people can use to enhance their health and well-being. Being an RD today means opportunities to work in hospitals, in schools and universities, with food companies, with sports teams, in wellness centers to name a few. A nutrition and dietetics degree is also an excellent major for pre-professional students. MS in Nutrition and Dietetics:The department also offers a masters degree in nutrition and dietetics completely online. This was the first on-line internet-based master’s degree in nutrition within the state of North Carolina. Our faculty are considered leaders in distance education. Taking classes online allows you to interact with students from all over the United States and the world. | BS in Hospitality Management: The Hospitality Management program is the largest in the UNC system and one of the largest in the south. Graduates are prepared via classroom and field experiences to become leaders in the growing hospitality field. We offer three tracks within the hospitality degree: food and beverage; lodging; and, event planning and conventions. A major strength of our program is the major includes a minor in Business Administration. Industry supporters of our program include Red Lobster, ARAMARK, Hilton, Hyatt, Westin, Kingsmill Resort, Biltmore House, to name a few. Our typical graduate received three to four job offers upon graduation. MBA with Hospitality Management Concentration: A MBA degree with a hospitality concentration can be obtained after completing your BS degree in Hospitality Management. This is a valuable degree option for those students who want to work in corporate hospitality settings. With careful planning, talented students can complete the BS in hospitality management and the MBA degree in five years; an opportunity unique in the state and the southeast. |
