Directs billing of patient charges for research and grant programs. This includes maintenance of currant and correct insurance information, patient demographic information, linking to generated patient accounts, and constant maintenance of files to assure patient billings are filed correctly and timely.
Responsible for the creation, setting-up and monitoring of approved company accounts, as well as, the linking and the monitoring of patients associated with these accounts.
Works with a wide and diverse group (billing data entry staff managers, explanation of benefits staff managers, assistant managers and clinical trial nurses, compliance staff, physician private investigators, various cooperative study groups), across the school to coordinate these billing safety net efforts necessary to assure proper handling of patient charges.
Maintains awareness of FDA regulations, and applies usage of HIPPA mandates and protocol for proper handling, storage and confidentiality of all record information, involved in establishing company accounts and research trial participant involvement.
