Responsible for managing the functions of the Patient Accounts Department within Clinical Finance. This includes the Charge Entry and Remittance Section, which is responsible for entering hospital, based charges into the IDX Billing System. This are is also responsible for posting all payments to the patient's account. The insurance section is responsible for all claim filing, EOB's (Explanation of Benefits), denials, resubmits, and appeals. The Patient Due section is responsible for patient statements, patient calls, SODCA (Set Off Debt Collection Act), SEDCA (State Employee Debt Collection Act), collections, and small claims court. The refund section is responsible for handling all credits with the IDX system, which includes refunding patients and third party payers. The Ingenix Claims Manager scrubbing software for claims is also housed under Patient Accounts. Responsible for working with Patient Access and the IDX programming team on system issues, implementation of new IDX modules and upgrades, and policy and procedures.
