Financial Accounting

This office is responsible for ECU Physicians, School of Dental Medicine clinical operations, State, indirect, and special fund accounting functions for the Division of Health Sciences (DHS), including:

  • Division-level review of purchasing and other expenditures
  • Processing of journal entries in the Banner accounting system
  • Procedural support and training for DHS schools, departments, and units on purchasing and other accounting functions

  • Provides support and training to DHS departments on financial accounting issues and procedures

Cathy Alphin
Procurement Accounting Specialist

  • Division-level review/approval of various university purchasing documents such as: PORT requisitions; direct payment forms; contractual pay requests/honorariums; print shop orders; special order allocations
  • Review and collection of all DHS monthly ProCard statements; supports and advises ProCard users
  • Support and training to DHS departments on purchasing policies and procedures

Maranda Coates

  • Review and processing of Health Sciences journal entries in the Banner accounting system
  • Preparation of ECU Physicians monthly Board reports
  • Provides support and training to DHS departments on accounting and purchasing policies and procedures

Leanne Turner
Accounting Reconciliation Technician

  • Review/processing of requests for new institutional trust funds (special funds)
  • Monthly distribution of indirect overhead allocations
  • Provides support and training to DHS departments on policies and procedures for the above functions
