Maximize the academic success of medical students and resident physicians.
- Provide assessment and interventions in the areas of study skills, test taking skills, reading, learning and cognitive development.
- Provide assessment and interventions related to academic, performance anxiety, and attention deficit.
- Provide preparation programs which maximize the trainees' ability to pass licensing examinations.
Maximize the personal development of medical students.
- Provide assessment and interventions focused on personal concerns including but not limited to stress management, anxiety control, interpersonal skills and personal adjustment.
- Provide support to the students' significant others to assist in the personal adjustment to the demands that medical education places on relationships.
- Provide students with the awareness and skills necessary for dealing with diverse populations.
Work with undergraduate pre-medical advisers to support the academic success of pre-medical students.
- Provide general advice about how to improve performance on the MCAT.
Assist in recruiting minority and disadvantaged students for all medical careers.
- Prepare minority and disadvantaged students for success in medical school via the intensive summer preparation program.
- Refer medical school applicants to appropriate resources for advice on how to maximize opportunities for admission
