Richard H. Marks

(Retired)
Emeritus Faculty Member of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology

  • B.A., Univ. of Richmond, 1965
  • Ph.D., Indiana University, 1969

The focus of creative activity is associated with education in biochemistry. Modules have been developed in the ToolbookÒ programming system that uses graphics and animations to help explain difficult concepts to students. In-class interactive question-answer sessions using student keypads have been developed that serve as the basis for weekly review sessions. Ongoing projects include investigation of whether Web-based distance learning may be used to enhance the preparation of students in biochemistry during the summer prior to their matriculation into medical school.
