  • Born and raised in Kinston, NC.

Enhui Hao

  • Born and raised in Beijing, China
  • Lived in the USA for 20 years 
  • MD and MS from China Academy of Medical Sciences in Endocrinology, Attending Physician in Endocrinology   
  • Research FocusmRNA Translational Control in Embryos and Tumors (Dr. Keiper's Lab)

Mitch Harris

  • Born and raised in Goldsboro, NC 
  • B.S. Biology and a minor in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill
  • Works: Dr. Shaikh's Lab
  • Future Plans: Dental School in the next year or two

Holly Jefferson

  • Research Focus: Regulation of growth hormone expression and GH receptor signal transduction and the effects of growth hormone on tumorigensis (Dr. Shewchuk's Lab)  

Mark Metcalf

  • Born and raised in Western NC
  • M.S. in Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry, East Carolina University (2010) & B.S. in Biology, Wake Forest University (2007)    
  • Research Focus: Gene regulation and fat metabolism (Dr. Phillip Pekala's Lab)

 

Mark Strausbauch

  • Born and raised in Greenville, NC 
  • B.S. in Marine Biology from UNC at Wilmington (2000) & NC Teaching Certificate for 9th-12th grade science from UNC at Wilmington (2002)     
  • Research FocusMechanisms of Intiation and elongation/translocation  &  Molecular Mechanism for the Fidelity of Transcription as Catalyzed by E. coli RNA polymerase (Dr. Johnson's Lab)
