Application Procedure for 2014 Entering Class
The Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) participates in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). Applicants need to visit the website of AMCAS to obtain instructions for this electronic application.

- Applicant must have Internet access and e-mail address
- AAMC recommendation sheet for applicants
- Filing dates for BSOM: May 2013 - November 15, 2013
- BSOM Supplemental Application

- Application link, instructions, and deadline information will be e-mailed upon receipt of AMCAS application
- If this e-mail has not been received within 1 week after receiving the "Application Processed" e-mail from AMCAS, applicant should contact somadmissions@ecu.edu or call 252-744-2271. Print and read Instructions and Responsibilities (pdf)
- Non-refundable application fee: $70 (see Instructions and Responsibilities)

- Statement of residence form
- 300-500 word essay (See Instructions and Responsibilities)
- Recent passport size photograph (color & appropriate for a professional application) scanned and submitted electronically
- Applications will only be accepted electronically. Paper applications will be returned.
- Letters of Evaluation

- Only accepted electronically through AMCAS
- Should be received by AMCAS no later than November 15th (August 31st for early decision applicants). No letters will be accepted after December 31st.
- There are two options for required letters
EITHER -
- Three individual letters
- two academic references (from individuals who have taught you coursework for a grade.), one of which should be from a science instructor, AND
- one personal non-academic reference (employer, advisor, or other non-family individual)
- One letter from the Pre-Medical Advisory Committee at your undergraduate school
- Three individual letters
- Some consideration may be given to applicants who have not done any academic work for three or more years. Interested applicants should contact our office for more information.
- Applicants are responsible for assuring that required letters have arrived.
- Oldest MCAT Scores Considered: 2010
