Application Process

Application Procedure for 2010 Entering Class

The Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) participates in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). Applicants need to visit the website of AMCAS to obtain instructions for this electronic application.

AMCAS 2010 Application
- Web-based application
- Applicant must have Internet access and e-mail address
- AAMC recommendation sheet for applicants
- Filing dates for BSOM: June 2009-November 15, 2009
BSOM Secondary Application
- Application link, instructions, and deadline information will be e-mailed upon receipt of AMCAS application
- If this e-mail has not been received within 6 weeks from AMCAS application submission, applicant should contact somadmissions@ecu.edu or call 252-744-2202
- Print and read Instructions and Responsibilities
- Non-refundable application fee: $60 (see Instructions and Responsibilities)
- Items that must be included with secondary application
- - Supplemental application form
  - Statement of residence form
  - 300-500 essay (See Instructions and Responsibilities)
  - Recent passport size photograph (color & appropriate for a professional application) scanned and submitted electronically
Letters of Evaluation
- Only accepted electronically through AMCAS
- Should be received by AMCAS no later than November 15^th (August 31^st early decision applicants)
- No substitutions on required letters is possible
- Required letters include Professional Committee letter OR 3 individual letters
- - Must be from faculty who taught coursework for a grade
  - Two must be from science instructors
- No substitutions on required letters is possible
- Applicants are responsible for assuring that letters have arrived
Oldest MCAT Scores Considered: 2006
- Scores older than 3 years not considered
- 2010 scores will NOT be considered
