Ms. Jernigan has over fifteen years of experience in healthcare and business operations and management with primary focus in legal and regulatory affairs.

Ms. Bisetegne serves the department as the Healthcare Compliance Specialist. Prior to joining Brody School of Medicine, she completed an Administrative Fellowship at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She received her JD from Northwestern University Law School and her MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Ms. Matos serves the department as the HIPAA Research Analyst. Her responsibilities include acting as a liaison and consultant for principal investigators (PI), coordinators, and research staff in HIPAA Privacy. Prior to joining Brody School of Medicine Ms. Matos worked for Battelle Memorial Institute, Center for Public Health and Evaluation where she was a Data Validation Coordinator, Presenter for Battelle CPHRE, and a NCS Trainer. She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Campbell University.

Ms. Duncan serves the department as the HIPAA Privacy and Compliance Specialist. Her responsibilities include receiving HIPAA Privacy Complaints and investigation of such complaints as well as providing HIPAA Privacy training for all health care components within East Carolina University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University.

Ms. Lang is a Billing Compliance Reviewer for the Office of Compliance. Her duties include monitoring physician compliance with documentation and coding guidelines in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Ms. Lang also coordinates and performs reviews of medical records and billing documents for the purpose of providing physicians and other billing personnel the feedback and instruction necessary to improve documentation and coding. Ms. Lang received her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from East Carolina University.

She has been a Coding Specialist at Trust Healthcare Consulting Services, Altegra Health, and UHS Physicians. Ms. Dudley received her Associates in Science Degree from Everest University.
