Ms. Kavuru is responsible for development and oversight of the Office of Compliance including the design, implementation, monitoring and assessment of Brody School of Medicine compliance activities. Prior to joining Brody School of Medicine, she was an attorney at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, where her law practice focused primarily on health care regulatory law including health care fraud and abuse, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement issues, HIPAA, telemedicine, and managed care contracting. Before attending law school, Ms. Kavuru was a Registered Nurse in the coronary intensive care unit at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University.

Ms. Price has been with the Brody School of Medicine for over nine years. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator with coding certification as a Certified Procedural Coder for Physician Based Services (CCS-P) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC). She has over 22 years of coding experience. Ms. Price received her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from East Carolina University.

Ms. Lang is the Coding Analyst for the Office of Compliance. She has been with ECU for 16 years, and with the Office of Compliance for six years. Her duties include monitoring physician compliance with documentation and coding guidelines in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Ms. Lang also coordinates and performs reviews of medical records and billing documents for the purpose of providing physicians and other billing personnel the feedback and instruction necessary to improve documentation and coding. Ms. Lang received her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from East Carolina University.

Ms. Duncan has been with the Brody School of Medicine for five years. She is the Administrative Specialist for the Office of Compliance and the ECU HIPAA Privacy Office. Her responsibilities include database administration, departmental website development, design and production of education materials and administrative support. Prior to joining Brody School of Medicine, she was a pharmaceutical representative. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University.
