The Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) provides leadership in the university's efforts to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. OED promotes a diverse, respectful and inclusive environment for the university community through educational programming, training and seminars. The Office promotes equity in university-wide educational opportunities, programming and employment in order to sustain a diverse and inclusive learning, living and working environment.
The Ledonia Wright Cultural Center (LWCC)
at East Carolina University provides specialized diversity and social justice experiences so all students can become confident, culturally aware, global citizens. Additionally, LWCC provides programming and services to support student success.
The LGBT Resource Office
provides support and a sense of community for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. We foster student leadership, as well as personal, academic, and professional growth, through volunteer opportunities and collaborative partnerships across campus. The Resource Office offers a safe and welcoming environment that promotes understanding, acceptance, and visibility of the LGBT community through a comprehensive range of educational programming and advocacy services.
