Meeting abstracts are a self-contained summary of your research and its significance. The title attracts scientists to your poster or oral presentation, and should tell a complete story. The body of the abstract presents new data, usually describing the major points of the study, and should include your experimental hypothesis, methods, results, conclusion, and acknowledgments. The exact format of the abstract may be set by the meeting organizers.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Construct an abstract title that engages the reader
  • Organize the abstract content to emphasize your data
  • Conclude with a powerful statement of the significance of your findings
  • Evaluate scientific abstracts, identifying strengths and weaknesses

Participation is limited. To participate, please complete and submit the Workshop Registration Form or call the Office of Academic and Faculty Development at 744-3420.
