This workshop is designed to provide participants with information and skills to meet those needs.
Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Describe appropriate and inappropriate uses of lectures
- List effective and ineffective techniques for using audiovisual teaching aids
- Discuss presentation skills including: eye contact, vocal variety, body language (gestures, posture, positioning), use of notes
- Demonstrate use of component teaching skills in a brief lecture presentation: establishing a learning contract, questioning, reinforcement, closure
- Assist colleagues' presentation skills through balanced, behavior-specific feedback
Participation is limited. To participate, please complete and submit the Workshop Registration Form or call the Office of Academic and Faculty Development at 744-3420.
