ABOUT US
The Office of Academic and Faculty Development is dedicated to promoting excellence in medical education at the Brody School of Medicine through the professional development of faculty. Our purpose is to support faculty in becoming outstanding teachers, scholars, researchers, clinicians, scientists, and administrators.

We achieve this through a variety of programs, planned, implemented, and maintained by our office. These programs include an annual series of workshops, conferences, and grand rounds; online faculty development resources; medical writing consultation services; faculty orientation; and teaching opportunities for retired physicians.

Program Planning and Participation
Program topics are determined through regular faculty surveys, ongoing program evaluations, institutional needs, and external accrediting organization requirements. Most programs are offered at no cost to participants. In Academic Year 2007-08, a total of 358 registrants enrolled in our 28 workshops. Participation in all activities would have allowed each participant to acquire a sum of 93 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for Continuing Medical Education.
