MEDICAL PROFESSIONALISM

This module is based on the work of a task force on medical professionalism at Brody School of Medicine; and will involve participants in reviewing existing literature concerning medical professionalism and its relevance for physician training and medical practice.
Objectives
Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:
- Describe the current emphasis on formally teaching and assessing professionalism among health professions trainees
- Discuss the implications of a professionalism emphasis on patient care and related issues
Participation
This module includes reading materials, a twenty-minute video presentation, and a post-test. It is estimated that it will require approximately 1 hour to complete this module. Successful completion of the self-assessment at the conclusion of the session is required in order to obtain CME credit for participating in this e-learning activity.
Accreditation
The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit
The Brody School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Each physician should claim only those credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participation in this online CME program requires a Windows-compatible operating system, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, or higher. Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape 4.7 (or higher) and Adobe Reader are also required. If you are using a modem to connect to the internet, you will need a modem speed of at least 56K.
