MEDICAL PROFESSIONALISM - INTRODUCTION

This module is based on the work of a task force on medical professionalism at Brody School of Medicine; and will involve participants in reviewing existing literature concerning medical professionalism and its relevance for physician training and medical practice.

Objectives
Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the current emphasis on formally teaching and assessing professionalism among health professions trainees
  • Discuss the implications of a professionalism emphasis on patient care and related issues
Participation
This module includes reading materials, a twenty-minute video presentation, and a post-test. It is estimated that it will require approximately 1 hour to complete this module.
