Class of 2018 - New Student Orientation

Students are required to complete many items and submit paperwork prior to Orientation in August. As items become available, this page will be updated with web links and forms. 
 
  • Ropes Course release of liability & participant health statement - Please return your completed form to Student Affairs.


  • Medical Health History form - Please return your completed form to Student Affairs


  • OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire- Please return your completed form to Student Affairs by July 28, 2014


  • HIPAA & Compliance Quiz - Available
    As part of your medical education training, you are required to complete the following two quizzes;
    COMP2: Provider Compliance 2014-2015
    HIPAA2: Provider HIPAA 2014-2015
    Please log into BlackBoard to complete each quiz. Upon completion, your score will automatically be recorded.

     

  • Immunization Requirements / Medical Record Form - Available. Please return your completed form to Student Affairs.


  • Apply for Financial Aid (FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Financial Aid) -Available


  • Pay Fall tuition (tuition & fee summary will be available by July 7, 2014)
    Students who have successfully completed steps for accepting their financial aid award offer will automatically receive a credit on their tuition bill in the amount that was accepted for the fall semester. The credit will appear starting July 2014. Students who do not accept enough financial aid to cover their fall tuition bill or who pay completely out of pocket, will have until August 9, 2014 at 5:00pm to pay their charges without incurring a late fee.

    Higher One Refund Card -DO NOT THROW THIS CARD AWAY.  What will my card look like?
    STUDENTS enrolled at ECU for the first time will receive a HigherOne card regardless if you receive financial aid. Cards will be mailed out the week of July 14, 2014. Please do not throw the card away. You may need it over the course of fours years in medical school.
    Students receiving financial aid (whether loan or scholarship) in excess of their tuition bill will receive a refund. Refunds are processed through HigherOne. HigherOne gives you the opportunity to select how you want to receive your refund (i.e. check, direct deposit, or on the card itself).
    Fall refunds will be available to students beginning the first week of class.


    Send Final Transcripts
    Please have FINAL transcripts from degree-granting schools sent to Brody Admissions Office (Mail Stop 610, Brody 2N-49) for your academic file.  Please check your e-mail messages for further details.

  • Health Insurance Requirement- Available
    ALL students are required to have health insurance coverage. ECU offers a student health insurance plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield-Student Blue.  Students who enroll in this plan will be charged 802.00 per semester. This charge is added to your tuition bill. Coverage begins August 1st. However, if you have an existing health insurance plan that you wish to keep, you may waive out of the BCBS health insurance plan by submitting a waiver. Please keep in mind that you too will be billed for the student health insurance until your waiver is accepted. Once it is accepted, the charge will be reversed and/or you will be reimbursed. Deadline to take action (either waive out or enroll) is September 10th.  Please click the link to enroll or waive out.

  • Computer Recommendations- Available

  • The 2014 AAMC Matriculating Student Questionnaire (MSQ) is scheduled to open on Sunday, June 1. The survey will take you approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. You are encouraged to take the MSQ before classes begin.  Beginning June 1, newly accepted students will be sent unique survey links via email to access the MSQ.Students who have problems accessing the MSQ should contact MSQ staff directly at msq@aamc.org and include their full name and AAMC ID in their message.   

  • Register for Parking-  Students will be able to register for a parking permit beginning July 15, 2014
    Log into https://onestop.ecu.edu/onestop/
    Click on the Tool tab and then select Parking and Transportation located in the Security and Transportation box. From there, click "Access the Parking and Transportation System".
