Also known as Paradoxical Vocal Cord Dysfunction, Paradoxical Vocal Fold Dysfunction, Episodic Paroxysmal Laryngospasm. Current investigations include the role of subglottal pressure in the etiology of PVFD, the use of stroboscopy in the assessment of PVFD, and the relationship of inspiratory flow volume loop shapes to the presence of PVFD.
The comparison of stroboscopic images of non-singers, training singers, and accomplished singers, as well as normal and disordered voices.
